Vikki Garrett is a Pensacola native who has worked locally in both the public and private sectors. Public agencies she has worked for include the Florida Department of Transportation, Escambia County Engineering Department, and the West Florida Regional Planning Council. Vikki has been involved with a few notable local transportation projects. She secured over $1 million in grant funds for paratransit vehicles to serve the transportation disadvantaged in our community. She obtained toll revenue credits from FDOT for the Pensacola Bay Ferry Service project saving the city and county a combined total of more than $1.1 million. And she has been appointed by the Federal Railroad Administration to serve on the Gulf Coast Working Group in an effort to restore passenger rail service to the Gulf Coast, including service to Pensacola. Vikki earned a softball scholarship from Pensacola Junior College (now Pensacola State College) where she obtained an Associate of Arts degree. She continued her studies at the University of West Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Vikki was a 2018 Florida House of Representatives District 1 candidate. She has returned to the private sector and is currently working as an Account Manager for a small business, Reyco Contracting Solutions LLC, which is owned by a minority woman veteran.
