The Institute for Women in Politics of Northwest Florida was incorporated for the express purpose of increasing the number of women serving in elected office in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties. Since 2013, we have encouraged women to participate in the political process, provided networking opportunities for women, and educated the community about the benefits of women in politics.
To achieve our purpose, IWP will —
Encourage women to consider political office a worthy endeavor
Help women see themselves as viable candidates
Provide candidates the knowledge and the tools to conduct successful campaigns
Educate Northwest Florida communities on the benefits of electing women to office
Promote understanding of the obligations and responsibilities of public service.
Our Mission Statement
To transform politics by increasing women’s engagement and representation in public leadership and the political process.
A future where women are engaged, represented, respected and take leadership roles in the political process.
